deleting myself(taks) ettiquette question

I know I can have a task delete itself by calling vTaskDelete(NULL). should I add a forever loop after it just in case? For example:
vTaskDelete(NULL); //NULL means me!
for(;;) ; //should never get here
or is it not necessary?
